Technical Knowledge/Job Summary - Read production schedule, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed - Knows how to operate and troubleshoot the various types of equipment used in the shipyard - Identify hazards, safe out equipment, and write safe work permits. - Will be required to work aloft (on scaffold or on manlifts) and in confined spaces. - On site training is provided. Job Proficiency - Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a fork lift, pallet jack, clamp truck, cherry picker, crane, or other power equipment - Positions forks, cherry picker, crane, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area - Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device - Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded - Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code - Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and re-fueling of all equipment - Determine what, if any, parts or equipment need service beyond shipyard personnel capabilities Culture and Collaboration - Follow all shipyard safety policies, including proper use of PPE, fire
