Job Overview Saronic is seeking a licensed Chief Engineer to assist the operation of our mid-sized autonomous surface vessel, Marauder. In this role you will be responsible for the operation of engine room and all associated machinery. You will ensure that all marine systems include but not limited to main propulsion system, auxiliary machinery, fuel oil system, lubrication, cooling system, and all associated environmental equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Have a strong grasp on vessel engineering systems with the ability to work independently on issues. A steadfast commitment to safety and adherence to maritime regulations is essential for ensuring the highest standards in vessel operations. Responsibilities - Complete all necessary maintenance on vessel machinery. - Oversee all operations in the engine room - Always be on-call while the vessel is underway to address any issues that arise during operations. - Manage the inventory and ordering of spare parts - Participate in the creation of a planned maintenance schedule - Assist in the shipboard execution of mission objectives. - Development of Engineering processes for vessel prior to launch - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and senior
