Expectations and Tasks: Manage an AI Science unit by continuously adapting the unit's focus and execution capabilities to customer/market needs, company strategy and financial objectives. Set direction by building a clear vision, strategy and business plan for the unit and contribute to overall strategy. Responsible for building a high-performance organization, and ensure direct reports do the same. Constantly push complex frontiers of what is possible in the area of machine learning working with real data. Responsible for a strategy of the implementation of the most recent machine learning algorithms and approaches for an important product/LoB. Responsible for translating research insights into adequate concepts for critical SAP's customers. Lead important project teams such as collecting requirements and coordinate the machine learning development.
