About this role

Hardware Technical Program Manager, Energy Storage San Francisco, California, United States About Redwood Materials Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling - keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we're delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have. Hardware Technical Program Manager, Energy Storage: We are seeking a Hardware Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the development, testing, and manufacturing of complex, box-level electronics assemblies. You will own program execution from concept through production, coordinating across hardware engineering, validation, supply chain, and operations. This role is about making sure our hardware - from circuit boards and flex assemblies to enclosures, connectors, and integrated box builds - is designed for reliability, tested thoroughly, and built to scale. Responsibilities Will Include: - Drive end-to-end hardware program execution (requirements → design → validation → NPI → ramp) - Lead cross-functional teams spanning mechanical, electrical, firmware, industrial design, test, and manufacturing engineering - Plan and manage prototype and production builds, including materials, logistics, and factory readiness - Oversee board and flex releases, system integration, and validation testing (DVT/PVT/MP builds) - Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers to drive DFM/DFT reviews, yield improvement, and issue resolution - Maintain clear build plans, risk registers, and program dashboards; proactively manage schedule and resource risks - Serve as the primary interface between Redwood engineering teams and external manufacturing partners
