This role is responsible for operating in a manner that will optimize the organization's efficiency and help achieve daily and weekly delivery goals including driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads, maintaining record of duty status according to state and federal regulations, and performing pre-trip and post trip inspections. Overview of Responsibilities: Drive truck to and from designated destinations. Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather. Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip. Check shipping papers to determine the nature of load and verify for accuracy. Operate equipment in all types of weather and conditions including going forward and backing up long distances, around corners, and in and around very tight areas. May be responsible for unloading materials, equipment, etc. from truck utilizing forklift. Perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain record of duty status. Report all accidents, incidents, and highway safety hazards involving drivers or company equipment. Promptly report and delays
