ASSIGNMENT EDITOR CBS 62 (WWJ-TV) and CW50 (WKBD-TV), the CBS News and Stations owned & operated in the #14 television market Detroit, is seeking a skilled news professional who is committed to delivering timely, accurate, and well-developed stories. This role requires strong judgment, initiative, and the ability to pursue relevant breaking news while maintaining high journalistic standards. Join and contribute to meaningful coverage that serves our audience. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with Reporters, Producers, and the Digital team on daily news coverage. The ideal candidate is confident and capable of coordinating crews, managing breaking news, and ensuring timely delivery of content. • Develop and pitch original story ideas with a focus on the communities we serve, including enterprise reporting on key local issues. • Build and maintain relationships with external contacts such as law enforcement, fire departments, local government officials, and community organizations
