Job Summary: Direct and manage the engineering activities (mainly through consulting A/E firms) for major utility-scale generation projects (including conventional, Energy Storage and renewable generation), major environmental control projects, and plant improvement projects. Provide expertise to support development and conceptual design of NRG generation projects including development of project scoping specifications, site due diligence support and layouts, EPC contracting technical interface, as well as managing fuel, water, wastewater and electrical interconnection scoping/contracting support. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Directs preliminary project engineering that feeds schedule & cost estimate development for major utility power plant projects or major plant upgrade projects complying with NRG's Project Manual. The detailed design and execution work is mainly performed by 3rd party consulting Architect/Engineering firms under NRG guidance.
