About the Role The Express Desk is looking for a general assignment reporter who can deliver on major breaking news stories in the West Coast and the Pacific region, as well as the delightful, viral stories that are the desk's hallmark. This sprawling, dynamic region is home to tens of millions of people, major industries and military facilities that cover East Asia, making it fertile ground for a reporter with wide-ranging curiosity and a high news metabolism. You will explore regional topics including affordability, homelessness and extreme weather like earthquakes , tsunamis and wildfires , and trending stories that appeal to a broad U.S. and international audience.
