The New York Times Opinion desk is looking for a digital designer to join our award-winning design team. You will design and art direct compelling mobile-first visual storytelling products and experiences, prioritizing UX performance and applying experimentation with the newest technology. You will work collaboratively with other creative, technical and editorial teams, responsible for coordinating multiple assets and contributors and meeting deadlines that follow audience plans and deadlines. You have a portfolio demonstrating talent in aesthetics, typography, layout, motion, storytelling techniques, and user-centered design principles. You have an affinity for institutional brand consistency and an eye for subtle detail. You quickly distill complex ideas into clean, organized, understandable and impactful digital experiences.
