This position is responsible for operating mobile equipment, performing mechanical work, and other duties associated with the safe and efficient operation of equipment used to produce hot mix asphalt. This position will include travel within the district. This is a full-time seasonal union position, membership in Local 49 Operating Engineers is mandatory. Essential Functions Inspect, operate, and maintain plant and associated production equipment Inspect, operate, and maintain mobile equipment including skid steer, front-end loader, pit truck, water truck, etc. Tools, mechanical aptitude, and welding experience preferred. Previous experience operating mobile construction equipment is desired. Competencies Safety Acumen Teamwork Adaptability Motivation Problem-Solving Responsibility Work Environment This position operates 100% of the time in an asphalt plant environment. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust
