About this role

Senior Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer Malta Office Role summary: A senior infrastructure engineer who will individually own and lead infra for the org, while handling broader platform concerns (SRE, SecOps). Clear growth path to Platform Lead as the team expands (likely next year). Responsibilities: Own and lead infrastructure across the org. Handle broader platform concerns including SRE and SecOps. Grow into Platform Lead as the team scales. Evaluation criteria (in priority order): 1. AWS, Terraform, CI/CD (must-have, core) - Strong, current production experience across all three. This is the core of the role. - Signals: infrastructure-as-code ownership, AWS architecture at scale, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, cost and reliability management. 2. Startup / scaleup experience - Has worked in a startup or scaleup environment and is comfortable with the pace and breadth that comes with it. - The calibre/growth-stage of past companies is a lighter factor. What matters is they can operate effectively as a sole infra owner in a smaller, fast-moving org rather than only within a large, established platform team. 3. Broader platform / SRE / SecOps breadth - Comfortable owning concerns beyond core infra - reliability, observability, incident response, security posture. - Signals: SRE practices, security ownership, on-call/incident leadership, the range expected of someone who is the single infra owner today and a potential lead tomorrow. Leadership potential (forward-looking): - Capable of growing into a Platform Lead role as the team grows - self-directed, sets technical direction, and can eventually hire and lead. Lower priority / not
