About this role

Welder/Fitter Mississauga, ON, CA Position Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Welder/Fitter to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for welding and fitting metal components per drawings to create finished structures or products. What Will You Do? Interpret drawings to select pre-cut metal plate and sheet parts. Operate a saw and cut bars, tubes, etc. to specific lengths and angles per drawings. Take prepared metal components and fit together per drawings. Set up and operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using various welding techniques, to complete the project. Operate manual MIG & TIG welding machines Finish welds (e.g. grinding, cleaning). Inspect product to ensure it is structurally sound and adheres to quality standards. Communicate any machine or production problem that may affect the desired output to the Production Manager. Willing to take part in additional shop activities such as component fabrication and assembly Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior work experience in the trade. Completion of CWB Welder Qualification Tests for 47.1 and or 47.2 (*note: can be completed within the first 6 months of employment). Experience with sheet metal welding & fabrication.
