Software Engineer (Applications Engineering) San Francisco | Hybrid | Remote Position Overview We are seeking a frontend-leaning engineer to help build and scale the user-facing web applications powering Knowtex's AI-driven clinical documentation platform. You will work closely with Platform Engineering and customer-facing teams to build accessible, intuitive, and performant user experiences that support real-time voice AI workflows across enterprise healthcare environments. This role is ideal for an engineer who has experience operating on small, high-impact teams with significant ownership and autonomy, including end-to-end execution on critical product features. Key Responsibilities - Exercise strong engineering judgement in evolving or breaking from existing patterns when appropriate - Design and build user experiences, including complex audio-centric workflows - Develop accessible, intuitive, and performant user interfaces - Develop secure and performant APIs and supporting infrastructure for web and mobile applications - Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer delivery teams to prioritize bug fixes, improvements, and new feature development - Participate meaningfully in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews - Contribute to shared application infrastructure, component library, design system, and developer experience - Improve system reliability, observability, and performance - Handle engineering escalations from customer-facing teams during on-call shifts, including investigating issues outside of your typical areas of responsibility Required Qualifications - 3+ years of experience building production web applications - Strong proficiency in TypeScript - Experience building applications with React and Node.js - Experience designing and building RESTful APIs - Experience working with relational and/or N
