Instawork is hiring a Senior Accountant, reporting into the Accounting Manager, to contribute to the company's accounting function. This role is a mix of very hands on, traditional accounting tasks and forward-looking projects to improve our systems and processes. Based in our San Francisco office, this role is ideal for a highly motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment and brings a combination of technical accounting expertise, operational excellence, and a passion for process transformation and innovation. Responsibilities of the role: - Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting schedules - Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies while maintaining strong internal controls and audit readiness - Assist with the annual audit process; readiness and execution, including preparation of supporting audit schedules and account reconciliations - Review and research technical accounting issues and drive to resolution - Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Biz Ops (Analytics), Product, IT and Legal teams - Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows,
