About this role
Recreation Specialist II Orlando, Florida The Recreation Specialist II plans, organizes, directs and participates in comprehensive activity programs that are tailored to the needs and limitations of the frail and elderly. Participant Activities - 50% Evaluates participant's functional status in relationship to recreations services. Performs initial, change of condition, transfer, and annual assessments for all participants. Develops, plans and implements recreational programs that meet the interests, needs and capabilities of participants who are frail and elderly. Assists participants with non-skilled activities of daily living. Develops and implements individual and group Recreational Therapy programs that meet the needs and capabilities of participants according to the care plan. Provides community resources for individual participants according to their care plan including but not limited to; community integration, community recreation resources, therapeutic community outings and therapeutic recreation special events. Consults with recreation department and contributes recreation program ideas for the ADHC recreation calendar on an as needed basis. Supports the recreation program and department when staffing needs warrant. Develops and applies leisure/recreation expertise in the leisure/recreation field. Disseminates to other recreation staff. Participates within the interdisciplinary team in the formulation of Plans of Care for InnovAge PACE program participants, as well as in other interdisciplinary team settings that plan, coordinate and monitor the care of InnovAge PACE program participants. Administration - 50% Consults with the multidisciplinary team regarding therapeutic recreational programs for participants, in collaboration with the occupational therapist.
