About this role

Paint Operator Des Moines, IA Job Overview The Paint Operator prepares surfaces and applies epoxy and urethane wet paints to obtain high-grade finishes on parts or products. A Day In The Life Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by: Applying masking tape and/or caps to protect parts and components that are not to be coated. Applying wet coat surfaces of manufactured products with epoxy and urethane coatings. Adjust valves on spray guns to regulate the width and pressure of spray. Pull trigger and direct spray onto the work surface to apply prime or finish coat. Properly cleaning and maintaining all spray equipment including booth maintenance. Making suggestions to supervisors for improvements associated with assigned work. Following instructions, both written and verbal, from the lead person and production supervisors. Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Inspect your own work for conformity to standards. What will help you thrive in this role? High School Diploma or GED 1+ years of relevant experience preferred Ability to utilize basic arithmetic skills Ability to prioritize workload, multitask, and complete tasks in a timely manner Knowledge of proper usage of safety equipment Ability to use hand tools (gages, guns, and pumps) required (required) Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds (required) Ability to stand for long periods of time (required) Hubbell Incorporated Hubbell creates critical infrastructure
