Test Engineer - Embedded SW New London, CT, US Overview Department 448 Network Administration Engineering Team works to design, implement, and maintain network infrastructures to support the design, development, testing and integration of system software for US Navy Nuclear Submarines. These network infrastructures, that are served by the System and Network Administrators, support a variety of engineering teams that develop and maintain a variety of submarine platforms and control systems such as: Ship Control, Combat Weapons Systems, Weapons Stowage and Handling, as well as other specialized embedded safety critical shipboard and database systems, simulators, and land based trainers. The Network Administration Engineering team works to assure that these network infrastructures and the engineering development platforms are up to date and follow the latest cybersecurity standards. Specific responsibilities include: Design, implement, maintain, and secure an organization's IT infrastructure, including LANs, WANs and VPNs. Key tasks include configuring routers/switches, monitoring performance, troubleshooting connectivity issues, managing firewalls for security, and performing upgrades. Working with software developers to provide robust development environments while implementing security controls Qualifications Required: High School diploma or equivalent 10+ years of experience with the following: Performing regular maintenance, applying patches, upgrading software, and migrating to new technologies.
