STO - Mechanical Test - Virginia Class Groton, CT, US Overview The Shipyard Test Organization is a learning organization that plans, prepares and executes complex testing on all non-nuclear systems through strict adherence to the policies and procedures that drive our Test Program. Our Test Directors abide by the nuclear watchstanding principles that have shaped our STO Pillars: Procedural Compliance, Ownership, Integrity, Level of Knowledge, Backup each other, Formality, and Planning. STO is the premier trade made up of a team of world class testers who have the knowledge and skill to be the last in line delivering the most capable warships to the U.S. Navy. STO Test Directors complete a rigorous qualification program through provided schooling, hands-on application and troubleshooting on the deckplate, and a continued dedication to growth and proficiency within their role. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: Perform hydrostatic testing of all Shipboard, Steam and Electric Plant, Auxiliary and Weapons systems. Complete Test Director review of Addendums and Test Form data daily to ensure accuracy and compliance IAW all Shipyard Test procedures Exhibit high moral character and integrity required to certify NAVSEA test requirements Exhibit the ability to read and understand various system and test diagrams/drawings required for all mechanical system testing.
