Duties include, but are not limited to: Preserve the hull and components by sealing the submarine with chemicals and paints that prevent corrosion and protect against the accumulation of marine life Interpreting blueprints, technical manuals and shipyard procedures Surface preparation and painting functions, which involves solvent washing, sanding and/or grit blasting Measure and document paint thicknesses in order to maintain a high level of quality Using various shop equipment including table saws, drill presses, routers, sandblast equipment, brush, roller, airless spray and other specialized equipment and air and electric hand held tools Must be able to obtain and maintain respiratory qualifications This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
