We have an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Ft. Madison, IA! Under general supervision, this position is responsible for inspection, repair and maintenance of a variety of automotive equipment and machinery including but not limited to automobiles, trucks, forklifts, cranes, semi-tractors/trailers, arial and scissor lifts, mowers, skid loaders, wheel loaders, telehandlers, generators, sweepers and small engine equipment. This role troubleshoots and diagnoses faulty operations using motor analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts, and factory manuals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Inspect, repair, and maintain a variety of automotive equipment and machinery. - Troubleshoot and diagnose faulty operations using motor analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts, and factory manuals. - Must be able to research parts needed, obtain quotes and properly complete requisitions - Disassemble and overhaul engines, transmissions, clutches, generators, starters, differentials, distributors, alternators, pumps, and other assemblies. - Replace worn or broken parts; grind valves; adjust brakes; tighten body bolts; perform wheel alignment; repair wiring; and adjust lights. - Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. - Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. - Other job duties as assigned.
