About this role
Security Specialist III This position is responsible for administering security programs and procedures for classified and/or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment for an assigned area(s). The ACPSO/ACSSO will Initiate plans, projects, and develop a schedule to meet project goals. The ACPSO/ACSSO will respond to a variety of inquiries of complex and diverse problems using a comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Government Industrial Security Programs (NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, DOD 5205.07 series, DOD 5200.01 series, ICD series) and a complete and thorough understanding of established policies, procedures, and practices for safeguarding National Security Information. Exercises considerable judgment to develop solutions while providing leadership and guidance to employees, supervisors, managers, and contractors on appropriate action(s) to be taken to ensure compliance with the classified security program. This position performs Security responsibilities regarding Special Access Programs (SAPs), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and National Industrial Security Program (NISP) including day-to-day coordination of program security disciplines with Program Management. Must possess the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems of diverse scope. Excellent communication, analytical, computer, and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to effectively interface, influence, and counsel employees, managers, and external contacts; analyze and interpret data; initiate and plan projects; produce appropriate clear, concise and detailed documentation; and present results to a variety of audiences. Must be able to work independently and on a team. Able to work extended hours and travel as required. May represent the company as the primary contact on external project(s).
