About this role

Engineer VII General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. The MQ-1C Engineering team is seeking a systems engineering expert and technical leader to join the Army Systems Engineering team, with a strong focus on architecture design, aviation requirements management, hardware and software architecture, and digital engineering tools such as Jama, Jira, and Cameo. This position will play a pivotal role in driving systems engineering activities, exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives for UAS hardware and software requirements management. Prior experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) is a plus. Functioning in a leadership role, this position supports the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Cyber (SEIC) leadership team in planning and overseeing the successful resolution and implementation of engineering challenges, while providing direction and guidance to professional and support staff. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Represents the assigned systems or projects(s)/program(s) as a prime technical expert. - Serve as a systems engineering expert and technical leader for Army aviation programs, focusing on UAS requirements management and architecture design. - Lead and oversee the development, integration, and verification of hardware and software architectures for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), ensuring compliance with aviation standards and requirements. - Utilize digital engineering tools such as Jama, Jira, and Cameo to manage requirements, track progress, and support system development across the engineering lifecycle. - Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, customers, vendors, and subcontractors
