About this role
Engineer VI General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer within our US Marine Corps engineering group. This position supports the US Marine Corps Expeditionary Forces, and their fleet of MQ-9 aircraft. This engineer leads engineering activities, including managing software sustainment releases, performing trade studies for configuration improvements, and supporting field troubleshooting efforts. This engineer provides technical reach-back support, interfacing daily with customer entities, with occasional travel to domestic and overseas sites. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Represents GA-ASI to USMC customers will be the primary focal point for real time technical support, to ensure mission readiness of GA aircraft systems. - Manage sustainment of deployed aircraft and ground systems, leading on-site maintenance and troubleshooting activities. - Supports information requests from partners, including customer engineering and executive leadership. - Contributes to technical trade studies that feed into long range planning of system configuration, and technology roadmap. - Interfaces with GA functional engineering teams in support of technical investigations. - Produces engineering estimates to support new business creation activities. - Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. - Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
