About this role
Engineer V General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. In our Propulsion Systems Mechanical Engineering Department, we have an exciting opportunity in San Diego, CA for a mechanical or aerospace engineer that wants to be part of making history by participating in the development of some of the most novel remotely piloted aircraft of our time. We want to employ an engineer with experience in integrating turbine and propulsion engines into aircraft, including associated systems such as air intake/exhaust, fuel, oil, and pneumatic systems. These installations are developed for multiple engines and applications on various remotely piloted aircraft. This position requires conceptualization and articulation of innovative solutions to highly technical and complex engineering problems. The position will involve planning and execution of engineering projects and will include representation of the Propulsion Systems team and Mechanical Engineering organization through technical presentations and documents. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Participate in the design, development, test, and integration of propulsion engines and associated systems such as fuel, oil, cooling and pneumatic for remotely piloted aircraft. - Conceptualize and articulate innovative solutions to highly technical and complex engineering problems, including strategic objectives and timing. - Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for research into the solution of engineering problems.
