About this role
Engineer V General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting new position within our Engineering Services group for an AI Project Engineer to provide Artificial Intelligence (AI) subject matter expertise and support across Functional Engineering teams within Engineering Research & Design. While this position reports to Engineering Services, it will offer AI guidance, expertise, and services to all groups within Functional Engineering, including Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Flight Technologies, System Development & Test, Advanced Airframe Engineering, Engineering Field Support, and the Office of Airworthiness, among others. This role will partner with Information Technology Services (ITS) and business stakeholders to champion AI-related projects and process improvements. The position will also actively participate in the ASI Engineering AI Tech Council, contributing to strategy, prioritization, and decision-making for AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for AI and its transformative impact on business processes, as well as exceptional communication skills. This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams to drive AI adoption and innovation. This opportunity will leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI to transform how engineers work across the organization, eliminating tedious manual tasks, accelerating workflows, and empowering teams to focus on innovation rather than administration.
