Engineer IV General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting opportunity for a System Safety Supervisor within our System Safety & RAM Engineering Group. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Support safety analysis of our Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Programs in development support the US Air Force, along with many other US and Foreign customers. - In this role, the successful candidate will lead a team of System Safety engineers to develop, manage, and execute System Safety Programs in accordance with military and/or commercial standards - Act as primary contact for System Safety engineering activities for assigned platforms and contracts. - Devises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems. - Communicate and clearly present system safety findings, issues, and solutions to various levels of internal and external technical and management stakeholders. - Provide system safety support for the design assurance processes, and other related milestones such as PDRs and CDRs. - Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements. - Participate in the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements, basis of estimates, and specifications - Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required professional and technical talent. - Support the Earned Value process and ensure the team is executing within budget and meeting schedule requirements - Maintains
