Engineer IV General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Electrical Design Engineer with our Electrical Engineering team located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Under general supervision with limited review, this position supports the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles. - Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information. - Responsible for analog, digital and power conversion circuit design for military applications with appropriate analysis and/or CAD modeling. - Responsible for control schemes, analog, digital, magnetic and electric machine design and/or specification, EMI design, thermal analysis and packaging. - Documentation necessary to support production (i.e. test procedures, records, bill of materials, Interface Control Document, Source Control Documents, detailed design specifications and production support) and training. - Required to provide field support as needed. - Performs other duties as assigned or required.
