About this role
Engineer II General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. The qualified candidate will leverage state of the art techniques like digital signal processing and others to design radar algorithms for many sensors and systems. Upon hiring the employee will operate as part of a small, fast-paced team whose algorithms are deployed to operations throughout the world and must maintain high standards for performance and reliability. Formal education in computer science, mathematics, physics and signal processing is highly preferred. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - The well qualified candidate will have implemented several and have some expertise in three or more of the following categories: - Signal Processing Algorithm Development - Signal Processing Algorithm Design - Data Analytics - Statistics - Probability - Embedded Systems - Computer Engineering - Software Defined Radio - Estimation Theories - Digital Communications - Software Development - Modelling and Simulation - Physics - Radar - RF Sensor Design - Under general supervision, participates in the day-to-day activities of assigned functional area assisting in the completion of routine and non-routine tasks. - Assists in applying knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve problems. - Assists in developing electronic and hard copy reports, records, diagrams and charts. - Responsible for observing all laws, regulations
