Senior Aircraft Systems Safety Engineer Olathe, Kansas; Wichita, Kansas Overview We are seeking a full-time Senior Aircraft Systems Safety Engineer in our Olathe, KS or Wichita, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the aircraft system safety assessment process and generating and approving the required analyses in support of Garmin STC projects. Essential Functions Work with system safety analysts to establish the system safety approach and documentation necessary to show compliance for Garmin STC Support the generation and UM approval of System Safety Assessment documentation in support of Garmin STC projects Interface with Hardware, Software and EMC groups to ensure appropriate design assurance levels are considered FAA approve Functional Hazard Analysis, qualitative analysis, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and particular risk/common cause analyses as required to certify the STC installations Generate Functional Hazard Analysis, qualitative analysis, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis and particular risk/common cause analyses as required to certify the STC installations for projects not assigned as a UM FAA approve test plans and reports and other data supporting system safety assessment process Work with engineers to generate and approve compliance statements for 23.1309 and other regulations that require system safety substantiation in support of Garmin STC projects Provide guidance and mentoring to system safety engineers Interface with ODA Administrators and FAA engineers as required Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater
