About this role
Electrical Project Engineer Tasmania, Australia Firmus Technologies is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with project engineering experience in the electrical, controls and cabling area to join our Engineering and Technology team. The successful candidate will be involved from late-stage design, through site construction, commissioning and handover into operations of Firmus' state-of-the-art sustainable AI Factory developments. You will act as the owner's engineer onsite, ensuring the electrical and controls aspects of our AI Factory builds are delivered safely, on time, to budget and in accordance with our design, standards and project objectives. Key Responsibilities - Design management for detailed electrical and controls designs delivered by contractors, ensuring alignment with Firmus standards and project requirements. - Carry out engineering design and calculations to provide technical guidance and direction to contractors. - Review contractor electrical drawings, documentation and equipment selections against contractual obligations, industry standards, safety compliance, and best practice. - Assist with the management of project documentation, including RFIs, variation requests, change control records, and site instructions for electrical and controls works. - Attending site and progress meetings to assist as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the electrical and controls subject areas - Conduct regular site inspections to verify that the installations are in line with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements. - Track progress against milestones for electrical and controls scope, identify deviations, and recommend recovery or mitigation actions. - Prepares ITPs and checklists that accurately tests equipment and plant to confirm they meets the contractual and performance requirements. -
