About this role

Government Information Specialist (Privacy) Washington, District of Columbia Summary This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO-Office of Privacy, Transparency and Records. As a Government Information Specialist (Privacy) you are responsible for supporting Treasury bureaus in strengthening privacy, data protection, and information security practices by providing expert guidance on privacy laws, policies, risk assessments, PIAs, SORNs, training, and incident-related procedures. Duties The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Reviewing system-related information security plans throughout the Department to assist with the alignment between security and privacy practices, and acting as a liaison between the Information Technology (IT) representative, the business or end user, and the Bureau Working with Treasury's Office of the General Counsel to interpret current and pending applicable federal, state and other information concerning privacy laws, accreditation standards, and service regulations in an effort to provide sound advice to the bureaus Assisting the Bureaus and providing other support as needed when they are receiving, investigating, responding to, and redressing complaints from individuals who allege violation of their privacy Assisting and advising Bureau management when they are evaluating privacy complaints and/or disclosures that indicate possible violations of privacy protections Requirements Key Requirements: Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
