About this role

Recreation Specialist (Programmer) Holloman AFB, New Mexico Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation on Holloman AFB, NM. Incumbent will work an irregular tour of duty which may include weekends and holidays. Incumbent must be able to stand, bend, stoop, walk, and climb for extended periods of time on various terrains and will be required to work outside. This is a flexible position (0 Guaranteed Hours). Military Spouse Preference is not lost if selected for this position. Duties The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, direct, evaluate, participate, conduct, and design, from beginner to advanced, a wide array of year-round outdoor recreational activities and programs under the supervision of the Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Outdoor Recreation). These activities include but are not limited to: Outdoor Adventure Program (OAP), water or land based activities, and other instructional programs. All activities/programs must include a risk assessment, a comprehensive itinerary, and a concrete process for obtaining customer comments, suggestions, and overall input/feedback. The primary duties of this position include but are not limited to: recommend new or additional activities based on the gathered information/ research and approved by management. The OAP will evaluate information and make proper/professional decisions based on what the needs are from the military, and/or affiliated, community. Responsible for professional completion of potential activities with thorough job accomplishment.
