Recreation Specialist (Program Manager) (MVO) Mountain Home AFB, Idaho Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation located in Mountain Home AFB, ID. This is a Regular Part-time position with 20 guaranteed work hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week. This position has available benefits, to include NAF Retirement, 401K, life, flexible spending account (FSA), health and dental insurance. Duties Program Planning & Execution Develops, organizes, implements, and leads a diverse, comprehensive four-season schedule of outdoor recreation activities, trips, and special events. Responsible for the comprehensive planning, scheduling, and logistical coordination of all outdoor adventures, ensuring offerings align with the needs and interests of the base community. Operates motor vehicles (MVO) to transport patrons, staff, and equipment to and from recreational sites safely and in accordance with established regulations. Leadership & Supervision Serves as the lead guide and primary point of contact for assigned outdoor activities and trips. Leads and trains subordinate staff and volunteers, providing daily guidance, establishing performance expectations, and monitoring work execution. Develops and conducts on-the-job training for staff and volunteers to ensure proficiency in outdoor skills, customer service, and safety protocols. Financial Management & Administration Assists in the development and management of the program budget, tracking daily revenues and expenditures to ensure fiscal accountability. Supports Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) financial objectives by actively managing revenue-generating operations and identifying areas for cost-efficiency.
