Recreation Assistant (MVO) Mountain Home AFB, Idaho Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Mountain Home AFB, ID. This is a Flexible position with no guaranteed hours, however may work up to 40 hours per week. This position does not offer benefits. Duties Program Support: Leads and assists in executing outdoor recreation trips and instructional classes. Coordinates operations across multiple functional areas; including resale, marina activities, equipment rental, trips, and events ensuring safe and effective execution. Provides guidance during on and off-site programs and special events. Administrative Support: Provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Recreation Specialist. Assists in drafting detailed itineraries and developing lesson plans. Manages patron reservations, maintains accurate attendance records, and generates post-trip after-action reports. Coordinates program outreach by professionally managing and resolving customer inquiries via telephone, email, social media, and in-person interactions. Equipment & Asset Management: Issues and receives outdoor recreation equipment and assists in maintaining accurate inventory accountability. Conducts safety inspections and performs routine cleaning and technical maintenance on all recreational gear. Safety & Facility Readiness: Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities and maintains facility cleanliness to ensure daily operational readiness. Verifies all facilities and equipment adhere strictly to established safety and risk management standards prior to patron use. Transportation & Logistics (MVO) Transports customers and mission-essential gear safely and reliably in accordance with scheduled mission requirements. Operates motor vehicles, including passenger vans, pickup trucks towing travel/equipment trailers, and specialized water or snow-specific recreational vehicles. If interested
