About this role

Recreation Assistant Randolph AFB, Texas Summary This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at JBSA Randolph AFB. This is a flex category position no guaranteed hours per week, may work up to 40 hours per week. Scheduled as needed. Employees appointed to a flexible category position are not eligible for benefits. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing 10 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance. Continuous standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pulling and bending. Duties The purpose of this position is to provide customer service and to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Community Services Mall. Performs a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the day-to-day operation of Outdoor Recreation programs and the car wash. This includes equipment loan and rental, RV Storage lots, U-Store-Its, Base Park, POV Resale Lot, Swimming Pools, Archery Range, and Car Wash. Checks customer eligibility. Operates Point of Sale (POS) system whether cash register or RecTrac, collects fees when appropriate for Outdoor Recreation programs and completes appropriate documentation. Informs management of any irregularities. Processes facility, equipment and program reservations. Signs up customers for classes, lessons, trips and programs. Assists with Outdoor Recreation trips and programs. Demonstrates safety and proper use of equipment when checking it out to customers; provides instructions and safety guidance. Responsible for receiving returned equipment, ensuring it is clean and working and placing it in the proper storage area.
