Recreation Aid - Lifeguard (Summer Hire) Holloman AFB, New Mexico Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation (Outdoor Pool) on Holloman AFB, NM. The incumbent will work days and evenings, Monday through Sunday. This position is a Flexible position (0 Guaranteed Hours). Military Spouse Preference is not lost if selected for this position. This is a temporary position, Not to Exceed 30-SEP-2026. Duties The primary purpose of this position is to observe swimming area to ensure safety of patrons at the Outdoor Pool on Holloman AFB. The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, ocean conditions of rough water or hazards, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail. When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards. Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made. May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc. Performs
