About this role
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC Warren AFB, Wyoming Summary Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information. The primary purpose of this position is to provide full performance level welding/sheet metal mechanic, carpentry, and locksmith work in constructing, installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying structures and items requiring close tolerance fit, structural soundness, fine finishes, and decorative effects. Duties - Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders in the construction and maintenance of installation facilities. - Performs routine maintenance, repair, overhaul and inspections of standard types of mechanical/electronic locking devices such as mortise, rim, key-in-the-knob, deadbolt, GSA safes, vaults, X09/X10, office equipment, padlocks and emergency exit locks. - Independently applies skilled methods, techniques, and advanced shop mathematics to construct, install, repair, and modify a wide variety of structures. - Uses a variety of welding processes such as oxyacetylene, electrode arc, submerged arc, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, metal spray arc, and spot and stud welding to join all types of common metals and alloys. - Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
