Laundry Machine Operator (Motor Vehicle Operator) Alconbury, United Kingdom Summary About the position: This position is located at the Industrial Laundry Facility, RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom. It offers 0 guaranteed hours per week and the incumbent may be required to work 0-40 hours per week, as needed. The position requires the ability to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to and over 50 pounds. Duties Loads, unloads, and transports clean and dirty laundry to and from the laundry facility and customer facilities in a government owned vehicle. Operates the delivery truck's powerlift system. Receives soiled laundry from base and customer facilities. Separates laundry into classes, counts and records numbers of each article, and documents accordingly. Loads washers, selects cycle and wash time. Removes laundry at the end of the cycle and transfers to dryers. Selects dryer cycle and time settings. Removes items from dryer and folds or prepares for pressing. Items selected for pressing are processed on the mechanical presser, so care must be taken to avoid scorching or burning the items. Assists in maintaining records of laundry received, processed, and returned. Makes calls as directed for delivery and collection of laundry products. Ensures cleanliness of washers, dryers, sinks, laundry carts, and the delivery van. Ensures lint traps are cleaned regularly. Performs other housekeeping duties as needed.
