Child and Youth Program Assistant (Entry - Intermediate Level) Eielson AFB, Alaska Summary This position is located at the School Age Center. Hours are subject but not limited to: 6:00am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday Occasional Weekends Department of the Air Force Child and Youth Programs Employee Child Care Discount applicable to this position (see Additional Information). APPLICATIONS WILL BE PULLED ON FRIDAYS AT 8:00AM UNTIL THE CLOSE OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT PERIOD. Duties CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ALL LEVELS): The incumbent will serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more child and youth programs and will be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Provides care/supervision, oversight and accountability for program participants. Assists in preparing age appropriate activities; supervises children and youth during indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events; arranges and serves snacks/meals. Executes work in accordance with policies and regulations. May be required to transport children in government vehicles. This position performs duties as described on SPG 70177 and 70178. In addition to duties described on SPG 70177 and 70178, the incumbent performs the following: transports children and youth in one or more types of passenger government vehicles such as sedan, van, school bus, truck, jeep, station wagon, etc. based on specific trip assignments, or regular schedules. Reads maps and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route. Enforces passenger seatbelt use.
