Senior Advisor for Homelessness Alexandria, Virginia Summary The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is seeking highly qualified individuals who are willing to meet the challenges of public service and support our mission. Duties This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Special Needs, Office of Community Planning and Development. The Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD) supports the Department's efforts to help create cohesive, economically healthy communities. CPD is responsible for maintaining current information on housing needs, market conditions, and existing programs, as well as conducting research on priority housing and community development issues. The Senior Advisor for Homelessness in the Office of Special Needs (OSN) plays a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the department's strategic response to homelessness. This position is responsible for providing expert advice, conducting thorough research and analysis, and working closely with various stakeholders to develop innovative and effective solutions to address homelessness and increase self-sufficiency. Major Duties: The incumbent is responsible for the following: Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans to address homelessness. Support the setting of measurable goals, objectives, and outcomes to guide federal homelessness initiatives. Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment of homelessness strategies
