About this role

Data Scientist Multiple Locations Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Human Capital, Human Capital Strategy & Systems Group, Division of Workforce Analytics & Accountability. As a Data Scientist, GS-1560-13, you will design, develop, and implement the analytical, statistical, and programming mechanisms necessary to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret unique and specialized human resources (HR) data sets. Duties Advises on workforce and HR data reporting. Collects, organizes, analyzes, and interprets specialized HR data sets, including but not limited to recruitment, staffing, retirement, separations. Collects, cleans, and analyzes data; creates visualizations; and develops and tests hypotheses using tools like SAS, R, or SPSS. Uses business intelligence tools to generate reports and communicate statistical insights to non-technical audiences. Education Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements: Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. TRANSCRIPTS are required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirement listed above.
