Respiratory Therapist Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington Summary About the Position: This position is located at Army Medical Center Madigan in WA This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Duties Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot pulmonary function and respiratory therapy devices following ATS standards. Observe the patient closely during treatment monitoring pulse oximetry and breathe sounds, assessing for abnormal vital signs or other changes in the patients' condition Act as the consultant to the medical and nursing staff in order to meet prescribed therapeutic outcomes Monitor and evaluate patient respiratory treatments done by other clinicians to ensure respiratory interventions are rendered as prescribed Participate in emergency treatment, performing life-saving actions as suctioning and endotracheal intubation. Ensure intubation and ventilation equipment is prepared and assist in life-saving procedures. Ensure that the respiratory service section maintains biannually competency and duties performed in accordance with employee job description Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
