PHYSICIAN (OBSTETRICS) Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii Summary About the Position: This position is at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) Department of OB/GYN, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Honolulu, Hawaii. Tripler Army Medical Center is a tobacco-free workplace. This is an open continuous announcement. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers. Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)). Duties Serve as a specialist in OB-GYN, specifically Maternal Fetal Medicine, performing complicated and involved examinations, diagnoses, and treatment of patients who may have complicated and often overlapping problems. Provide a variety of professional medical services to authorized beneficiaries of the outpatient clinic on a walk-in or scheduled appointment basis. Examine patients to determine need for and orders laboratory test, x-rays and other procedures necessary to complete medical facts on Maternal Fetal Medicine cases. Interpret examination findings and test results, makes diagnoses of disease, illness, disorder or injury, and treats patients or prescribes course of treatment. Make presumptive diagnoses of more serious or uncommon conditions and seeks advice of appropriate consultants. Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, peer review, and similar professional medical activities in conjunction with accreditation and other standards required of medical facilities. Perform inpatient clinical duties as credentialed including but not limited to admissions, discharges, treatments, therapeutic procedures and clinical documentation for adult, pediatric, obstetrical, critical care and emergency department patients.
