About this role
Nurse Practitioner Groton, Connecticut Summary About the Position: Serves as a Nurse Practitioner providing a variety of health care services in an outpatient setting to patients from newborn to geriatrics, Groton, CT. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Duties The position administers health care services in an outpatient setting in compliance with state and federal regulations and meets professional standards of designated regulatory agencies. Responsible for efficient and effective operation of a medical service to render treatment and medical care in a primary care setting. Assesses individuals/families and develops a care plan based on physical and psycho- social status and on the needs of the patient and diagnoses minor/acute and chronic conditions and provides counseling to individuals, families, and/or groups. Prepares written or computerized, complete, accurate documentation on all patients evaluated in the clinical setting and provides treatment of minor/acute and chronic conditions. Prescribes a variety of medications to patients in an outpatient clinic, based on MTF policy and performs routine histories and physicals. Determines in accordance with existing protocol whether treatment is within the scope of his/her professional abilities making referrals and consultation to a variety of multidisciplinary services.
