About this role
Maintenance Mechanic Fort Hood, Texas Summary About the Position: This position is located at Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood,Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Duties Perform construction, maintenance, and repair of building facilities, such as repair and modification of metal and wood structures, building frames, walls, stairs, door and window frames, exterior trim, etc. Perform necessary repairs, alterations, installations, and preventive maintenance for the operation and upkeep of buildings, utilities, and equipment. Maintain and repair building equipment and materials in various trades such as Electrical, Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Sheet Metal, and Painting. Independently plan work, determine tools and materials required, make material and equipment substitutions, and completes tasks. Operate a motor vehicle for movement of people, materials, and equipment.
