Laundry Worker (MVO) Camp Lejeune, North Carolina Summary About the Position: This is a Laundry Worker (MVO) position located in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Duties Collect soiled or contaminated linen from all wards and clinics within the main hospital facility, outlying medical clinics. Ensures that linen is properly bagged and separated. Routinely ensure heavily contaminated linen is bagged in a water-soluble bag inside a nylon bag. All soiled lined placed inside a linen laundry bag. Placing linen in proper storage location and is managed and tracked. Prepare specific disaster carts and ensure they are readily available. Conduct periodic inventory assessment of cart composition and preparation plan that will allow carts to be delivered at a moment's notice. Weigh each bin of laundry and linen. Participate in annual linen inventory of the hospital and outlying clinics to determine the amount of linen that is lost, pilfered, surveyed or still in rotation. Conduct periodic inspections of customer areas to ensure that linen above the amount normally allowed is not being stockpiled or stored elsewhere. Perform quality performance of all services provided. Operate a box tuck with enclosed bed and 2,000lb liftgate. Deliver clean linen and pick up soiled linen to outlying clinics and hospital on a scheduled basis.
