About this role
IT PROGRAM MANAGER (POLICY AND PLANNING) Multiple Locations Summary As an IT Program Manager (Policy and Planning) at DMDC, you'll lead critical, multi-year initiatives. You will manage the full product lifecycle, from vision and requirements to executing strategic roadmaps. Leveraging expert knowledge of IT life-cycle management and DoW systems, you will drive strategic planning, formulate IT policies, and oversee investment and performance management. Lead complex programs and deliver innovative technical solutions powering global personnel operations. Duties This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. As a IT PROGRAM MANAGER (POLICY AND PLANNING) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Manages one or more major, multi-year IT initiatives by leading, coordinating, and ensuring the overall success of the program is aligned with critical agency priorities. Serves as a Program Manager, responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. This includes gathering and prioritizing requirements, defining the product vision, and creating the product strategy and roadmap. Develops and maintains strategic plans, assesses policy needs, develops policies to govern IT activities, and provides policy guidance to IT management, staff, and customers. Performs a wide range of IT management activities including strategic and capital planning, investment control, workforce planning, policy development, resource management, and information security management. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience
