About this role
Health Technician (Laboratory) Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii Summary About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Department of Pathology in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour. Duties Receive sample packages sent by remote laboratories. Unpack samples, reviews documentation for completeness and technical accuracy, and processes samples as described above. Pack samples for pickup by courier or for mailing to areference laboratory. Exercises care in handling, processing and shipping samples. Enter all shipped samples into the shipped sample database, performs system backups, and generates reports as requested by supervisor or laboratory manager. Receive requests for supplies from others in the laboratory. Maintains all documentation as required by Department of Health Agency (DHA) and local regulations. Submits and coordinates orders with Logistics. Process a wide variety of laboratory specimens for in-house analysis and/or shipment to civilian or military reference laboratories. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college
