General Supply Specialist Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Summary About the Position: This position is located in the Director for Administration, Material Management Department at U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Access to Medical and Dental Care in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is extremely limited. Please see Additional Information section below. Duties Ensure the protection of supplies and equipment against loss and the integrity of accountable records are maintained. Determine effectiveness of supply operations by reviewing reports and records of assigned account. Responsible for the development and analytical techniques to assure the effectiveness of the supply and property accountability program. Coordinate and control operation, maintenance, and administration of functions and processes that relate to the investigation, correction of, and reporting of discrepancies in stock accounting records. Review work requirement to assure production and accuracy standards are met. Contracting Officer Representative for Medical Surgical and Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor. Prepare request for modification to contracting officer to provide information and request for action when situations arise that require resolution to ensure contractor is within the terms and specifications of the contract. Serve as the Approving Official Agency Program Coordinator (APC) responsible for managing operation of the Government-wide Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) Program. Provide oversight of the purchasing division in the Materials Management Department. Provide oversight to supply technician ensuring levels of consumable medical surgical items are at a reasonable level. Serve as the functional authority and primary point of the contact for functional issues pertaining to support of the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support System.
