FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST Arlington, Virginia Summary This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. Duties As a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Design and conducts broad and complex Financial Policy program studies where the boundaries of the studies are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance. Ensure recommendations are consistent with Fiscal Law, regulations, policies and standards issued by the DoW, Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) or other Federal entities. Serves as the focal point for coordination of FMS and FMF financial policies within the DoD, the Department of State (DOS), Department of Commerce (DOC), and Office of Management and Budget (0MB) with high level representatives of foreign governments. In consultation with the Department of State and the Military Departments, develop new financial policy for critical Department priorities such as the implementation of Executive Orders and SECWAR mandates. Support audit remediation efforts by developing corrective action plan and revising policies as necessary. Participates in continuing studies to revise, improve, or adjust the DSCA automated information and financial systems. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
